In addition to managing the Tableaux staff, Barrett serves as the admissions associate at McAfee School of Theology as well as pastor of National Heights Baptist Church in Fayetteville, GA. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Leadership from Belmont University,  a Master of Divinity from McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University and a Master of Theology in Homiletics from Candler School of Theology at Emory University.

In addition, Barrett serves as adjunct faculty at McAfee by teaching Introduction to Theological Thinking and Writing to first-year seminary students.  He also serves on the steering committees for CBF's young minister network, Current, and CBF-GA's Coordinating Council.

He considers himself to be a Christian, Caucasian, middle class, liberal arts educated, seminary trained, southern American, ecologically-minded, feminist who is a Baptist pastor. These facts say something about how he sees himself, God and the world. Together they shape his theology, calendar, vocation and self-worth.

In his spare time, Barrett contributes to ABPnews Blog, EthicsDaily and FaithVillage as well as blogging weekly at Liminality: exploring the holy, in-between spaces. Ultimately, he enjoys sharing his life, hobbies and ministry with his wife Noelle (MDiv/MS Clinical Mental Health '12), his son Henry, and two cats: Boaz and Ruthie.
